Janice S. Gates, 70, Napoleon, MO. Passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at John Knox Hospice House, Lees Summit, MO. Visitation for Janice will be held on Wednesday, February 28 at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington from 6 to 8 pm. There will be a private graveside service at Arnold Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wellington Napoleon School for a scholarship fund for someone going into elementary education, the Napoleon Clover Leaf 4-H or for the Arnold Cemetery.

She was born October 24, 1947 in Warrensburg, MO to Calvin and Madeleine (Doyle) Harms who preceded her in death. Janice graduated from Higginsville High School in 1965. She was united in marriage on March 9,1969 to Stanley Stephen Gates III in Fayetteville, MO; who died August 16, 2015.
Janice taught third grade at Wellington Napoleon R-9 for 30 years. She was a Sunday School teacher and bible school director at the Baptist Church. She retired from teaching in 2000 and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and staying active in the community. Janice was an active member of the GFWCWomen's club in Lexington, MO. She severed on the Wellington Fair Home Economics committee. Janice enjoyed being a 4-H leader for Food, Home Environment, and mini 4-H. She loved spending time in the garden and tending to her irises and Lilies.
As a proud grandmother she enjoyed watching her grandchildren: Shelby, Winnie, Kierstyn, Jana, Schyler, and Lillie participate in numerous activities.

Janice is survived by her grandchildren and children: Stanley Stephen Gates IV (Adriana Shanaj) Parkville, MO, Stephanie Sue Lawson (Jason), California MO and Stuart Samuel Gates (Elisabeth), Napoleon, MO.

She is also survived by one brother, one sister, and a brother and sister-in-law
