Janelle Sue Wisdom, 67, Of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 24, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Odessa, MO, 100 W. Hwy OO, with Pastor Berry Young officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Clifton Hill Cemetery in Clifton Hill, MO. Janelle was born on November 20, 1946 in Keytesville, MO to Samuel and Ruby (Owens) Wages. She graduated in 1964 from Westran High School in Huntsville, MO. On March 3, 1973 she married Kent Russell Wisdom in Kansas City, MO. Janelle was a member of the First Baptist Church of Odessa, MO. She worked as a bus driver for 22 years and was currently providing transportation to students of the Odessa School District. Janelle loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She loved holidays, cooking, crocheting, and family get togethers. Janelle loved putting a smile on kids’ faces, whether being a clown, providing a special treat, or kind gesture to those at the right moment.
In addition to her husband, Janelle is survived by three children, Edward Wisdom and wife Michelle of Bates City, MO, Vernell Wisdom of Independence, MO and Heather Dempsey and husband Jon of Overbrook, KS; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Wages and wife Karen of Fort Madison, Iowa and Larry Wages of Clifton Hill, MO; four sisters, Joyce Staab and husband Arlen of Leawood, KS, Janet Bailey of Peoria, Arizona, Judy Lunceford and husband Bob of Blue Springs, MO and Jaleta Stanley of Salisbury, MO; a mother-in-law Carol Wisdom; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janelle was preceded in death by a brother Donald Wages, a father-in-law, Herbert Wisdom and a brother-in-law, Mike Stanley.
