Jan (Smith) King, 67 of Blue Springs, Missouri formerly of Odessa, MO passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at home.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2019 at the First Christian Church, 224 W. Dryden St., Odessa, MO, 64076. Burial will be in the GAR Cemetery in Miami, Oklahoma at 3:00 p.m., Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the NEO A&M Nursing Department Scholarship Fund, 2001 I Street NE, Miami, OK 74354. Jan was born on June 16, 1952 in Holdenville, OK to Bill and Pat (Boyd) Smith. She worked as a registered nurse in hospitals, clinics and hospice programs. However, being the school nurse at Odessa R-7 School District for 15 years was her most memorable position. Jan loved her rescue dog Remi and her grand dog, Zoey. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Jan loved attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Anise Thomas of Miami, OK and Chandy Swope of Lawson, MO; six beloved grandchildren, Colton Davidson of Arnold, MO, Cameron Davidson of Kansas City, MO, Chase Davidson, Colby Davidson, Chloe Davidson, and Camille Davidson of Holden, MO and a special son-in-law, Jeff Davidson; sister, Kae Ray and husband Larry of Carthage, MO; niece, Jennifer Theis and husband Erik of Joplin, MO and a nephew, Jay Moore and wife Jessica of Broken Arrow, OK.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents.
