James William Gassen, 77, of Lexington passed away September 19, 2019 at his home. Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. A funeral service will also be on Sunday at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Jim was born January 27, 1942 in Lafayette County to Charles and Grace (Hayward) Gassen. He graduated in 1959 from Higginsville High School. He was a dock worker for Yellow Freight for 30 years. Jim married Joyce Shaw on September 9, 1970 in Hermitage, Missouri. She preceded him in death July 24, 2010. He enjoyed spending time with his family and hunting, fishing and going to the casinos.
Jim is survived by his children, Sharie Seek of Lexington, Ronnie Gassen and wife Tonya of Corder, David Gassen and wife Kaysha of Edwards, Missouri, Pam Wolf and husband Scott of Washington, Missouri and Kenny Gassen of Lexington; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a grandson, Travis.
