James "Jim" Arnold Cannon

James “Jim” Arnold Cannon, 73, of Centerview, Missouri passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cannon Family Cemetery in Carrollton, MO. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Jim was born on March 9, 1943 in Kansas City, MO to Walter Arnold and Alberta Mayo (Hattabaugh) Cannon. He graduated from East High School in Kansas City, MO. On July 27, 1961 he married Glenda May (Atkinson) Cannon in Kansas City, MO. Jim retired from Southwestern Bell on January 11, 2002 after 39 years of service as a Communications Technician. In the 39 years at Southwestern Bell he held many positions. Jim also farmed and raised cattle. He was a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneers. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Jim enjoyed fishing, tinkering in the garage, working on small engines, tractors and farm equipment. Bailing arm and The Cabin”.

Jim is survived by his wife Glenda Cannon of Centerview, MO; three sons, Fred Eugene Cannon of Lee’s Summit, MO, Randall James Cannon and wife Teresa of Warrensburg, MO and Michael Matthew Cannon of Pleasant Hill, MO; five grandchildren, Kelsey Brooke Cannon, Tyler James Cannon, Joshua James Cannon, Jessica Marie Cannon and Madison Nichol Cannon; and one sister, Patricia Sue Iseman of Raymore, MO, and many nieces, nephews and his new pal Buddy.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
