James E. Davis, Sr, 82, of Lexington, MO passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his home. James was born March 12, 1932 in Lexington, MO to Jess and Ole Duncan Davis. He married Phyllis Jean Jenkins on May 24, 1952. James was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a Purple Heart Recipient. He had retired from the General Motors Leeds Plant and was a member of the Lexington V.F.W. Post 4052. James is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of the home. Children: Beatrice Peavler, Lexington, Marlene Rehmsmeyer, Higginsville, and James Davis, Jr., Lexington, and Trudy Vojtas of Gaylord, MN. Brothers: Bill Davis and Wilburn Davis, both of Lexington. Sisters: Mazie Parrott, Lexington, Margie Brown, Kansas City and Betty Danner of Lexington. There are 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Lucille ODoniel, Lee Martin, and Pauline Folsom. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO (660) 259-2245. Burial in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO with military rites. Visitation from 12 noon until service time on Friday. Memorials may be made to: Lexington V.F.W.
