JAMES DOUGLAS ADKISON
James Douglas "Doug" Adkison, 77, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Riverbend Heights Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00am at Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. Visitation will also be on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 10:00 to 11:00am. Burial will be in Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Machpelah Cemetery Association.
Doug was born on December 1, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lawrence and Connie Aarons Adkison. On July 16, 1961 he married Karen Jo Brooks in Lexington. He worked as a construction laborer and was a member of Local 264 General Labor Union. Doug was a member of First Baptist Church, Lexington.
He is survived by his wife Karen of the home; sons, Kevin Adkison of Lexington, Darren Adkison and wife Cara of Blue Springs, and Mark Adkison and wife Madonna of Lexington; brother Richard Adkison and wife Diana of Gilliam, MO; sister Kathleen Nichols of Wright, KS; and seven grandchildren.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Ann Marie Adkison.
