Iris Deane Hogan, 92, of Lexington, died September 10, 2014, at the Riverbend Heights Health and Rehabilitation Facility. She was born on April 29, 1922, in Lexington to Forrest and Catherine Wallace. She married Wayne R. Hogan on January 28, 1945 in Lexington. Wayne predeceased her on November 24, 2005. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she helped form the first Circle Group for Women. She also was one of the first Cub Scout leaders at the church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxillary. She worked for Mattingly's, Lake City Arsenal, The Lafayette County Courthouse, and the Lexington School District. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Jean Wilson and her husband Larry, San Antonio, Texas; one son, Larry Wayne Hogan of Lexington; three sisters-in-law, Myrna Wallace, Mary Wallace, and Dorothy Wallace of Lexington; one brother-in-law, Ivan Hogan, of Hardin, numerous nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren, Kimberly Anne Wilson of Dallas, Texas; and Christopher Ryan Wilson of Stamford, Connecticut. A celebration of Iris Deane's life will be held on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the Presbyterian Disciples Church in Lexington. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Disciples Church of Lexington or the Lexington Food Pantry.
