Hubert “Doug†Douglas Matthews, 62, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524, with Pastor Jason Thornton officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odessa City Cemetery. Doug was born on March 2, 1952 in Odessa, MO to Hubert Walter and Venita Arlene (Pallette) Matthews. He is a 1970 graduate of Odessa High School. Doug was currently working at MAST where he performed various jobs relating to Munitions. Before working at MAST he was self-employed as a carpet installer. His hobbies include fishing, camping, gardening, watching NASCAR and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Doug is survived by a brother, J.W. Matthews and wife Theresa of Blue Springs, MO; two sisters, Dana Arbogast of Odessa, MO and Wanda Wade and husband Barry of Odessa, MO; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his father, Doug was preceded in death by a sister, Kaye Begeman and a nephew, Ryan Trent Kelly Arbogast.
