Hiram “Benny” Benton Wilson, 66, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at his residence, rural Odessa, Mo.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Community of Christ Church in Oak Grove, MO. The family will host a visitation starting at 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the church. Inurnment with Military Rites will take place at 10:00 a.m., Monday March 7, 2016 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Memorials are suggested to Preferred Hospice. Hiram Benton Wilson was born on September 18, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to Earl Benton and Mary E. Hurshman Wilson. He married Carol Ann Dutoit on June 23, 1974 in Odessa, MO. Benny was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army. He had worked as a carpenter most of his life and had recently worked in maintenance at Golden Living Care Center, Odessa, MO.
Survivors include his wife, Carol, of the home. A daughter Sara Sterba and husband, Danny, Odessa. There are two grandchildren, Mateja and Tavian Wilson. Also surviving is his mother, Mary Wilson, Odessa. Benny was preceded in death by his father and a brother. Earl G. Wilson.
