Hester Maurine (Moore) Rukavina, 87, of Wellington, Missouri passed away November 10, 2019 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehab Center, Richmond, Missouri. Per Hester’s request there were no services, the family held a private interment. Memorials may be made, in her honor, to the St. Luke Evangelical Church, Wellington. Hester was born December 29, 1931 in Hiawatha, Kansas to Owen and Maurine (Dobson) Moore. She graduated from Highland High School, Highland, Kansas. She married Joseph J. Rukavina on August 8, 1953. She was a homemaker and babysitter and then worked as a seamstress for Dunbrooke for many years. Hester was a member of St. Luke Evangelical Church, the Eastern Star and was a 30 plus year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Hester is survived by her children, John Rukavina and wife Marla of Wellington, Vicky Begemann of Lexington and Mark Rukavina and wife Susan of Wellington; grandchildren, Brenna Begemann, Justin (Heather) Begemann and Joseph Rukavina; step grandchildren, Geoffrey Pollard, Matthew Todd, Kendra McFarland and Jonathan Todd; great grandchildren, Mika and Maddox Begemann; and sisters, Mary Prawl of Denton, Kansas and Elsie Virginia Austin of Kansas City, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Warren Moore and Charles Moore; sisters Elizabeth Lierman, Minnie Penn, Dorothy Hickok and Laura Ruth Cox; and son in law, Fritz Begemann.
