Herbert L. Smoot 84, Odessa, Missouri passed away April, 26th 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs. A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday April 29th at 2:00PM at the Greenton Church in Odessa, Mo with a Masonic Service. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation. A private burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Braymer, Mo.
Herbert was born on October 31, 1929 in Polo, Missouri to Hardin Dewitt and Leona (Buchanan) Smoot. Herbert married Marjorie Fields on May 29, 1949 in Plattsburg, Mo. Herbert was a Truck Driver and truck salesman before retiring.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie of the Home, his children; James (Kimberly) Smoot, Odessa, Steven (Cindy) Smoot, Springfield, Cheryl (Mark) Steiner, Odessa, Susan (Ronald) Jones, Odessa. There are 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Children. Also surviving is a brother Larry Smoot, Mechanicsburg, Illinois. Herbert is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Patsy Smoot and Ina Smoot.
