George Wyer, 84, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Graveside services will be held at Greenton Cemetery at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013. www.ralphojones.com. George was born on March 11, 1929 in Worth County, MO to Orvia B. and Adeline Wyer of Grant City, MO. Mr. Wyer served in the United States Army for 6 years from April 1947 to April 1953. He served in the Korean War for 1 year and served in Japan for 2years. On July 3, 1959 he married Letha Mae Page, who preceded him in death. Mr. Wyer moved to Odessa in 1968 and farmed for several years while working for General Motors.. Mr. Wyer retired from General Motors in 1984 after 31 years. Surviviors include a daughter, Diana Dockery and husband Bill of Warsaw, MO; a brother, Robert Wyer of Belgrade, Montana; 3 nieces a nephew and their families; a very dear friend, Loretta Martin. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother Marion Wyer and a sister Ethel Mae Lawson
