Helen Marie (Waller) Westmoreland, 78, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Helen was born on January 20, 1938 in Clear Creek, MO to John Earl and Naomi Ann (Gramlich) Waller. She graduated from Pilot Grove High School in Pilot Grove, MO. She married Norman Francis Westmoreland on December 24, 1956 in Odessa, MO. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2008. Helen was a member of the First Christian Church in Odessa. She was a Homemaker taking care of her family. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Helen loved her mini dachshund Jenny Lynn, sewing, gardening, flowers and her yard ornaments.
Survivors include three children, Doris Van Cleave and husband LeRoy of Mayview, MO, Norman Westmoreland and wife Karla of Kearney, MO, and Don Westmoreland and wife Valerie of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren, Rebecca Westmoreland, Candice Jackson and husband James, Bridget French and husband Clint, J.R. Van Cleave and wife Jessica; six great grandchildren, Wyatt, Graham, Harrison, Kellan, Adelyn, and Violet; four sisters, Dorothy Simpson of St. Louis, MO, Ruth Hayden of Centralia, MO, Mary Gerling and husband Marvin of Boonville, MO and Carol Brown and husband Gary of Columbia, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Flannery, and two brothers, John and Charles Waller.
