Howard Lee Barker, 99, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524, with Reverend Clint Coffey officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery North of Odessa. Memorials are suggested to the Greenton Cemetery Association or the First Christian Church of Odessa. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com. Howard was born on October 7, 1913 in Odessa, MO to George William and Nellie (Day) Barker. Howard spent his life living and working on the family farm. On September 25, 1940 he married Marion Marie Robinson in Odessa, MO. Marion preceded him in death on October 20, 2002. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Odessa. Howard loved to hunt, fish and take an occasional trip to Yellowstone National Park. He also liked to watch all sports ,but especially liked baseball and football. Howard is survived by four children, Aubrey Barker and wife Judith of Higginsville, MO, Carl Barker and wife Denise of Odessa, MO, Dale Barker of Odessa, MO and Rosanna Hare and husband Gurney of Grain Valley, MO, a son-in-law, Don DeGraffenreid of Donna, Texas; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to Howards parents and wife he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna DeGraffenreid; a granddaughter Sandra Marie Barker; a brother Alvin Barker; and a sister Frances Bottemueller
