Myrul Barker, 92, of Odessa, Missouri passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Odessa. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Greenton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the cemetery. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery with military rites. Memorials are suggested to the Calvary Baptist Church or the Greenton Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be left at
www.ralphojones.com. Myrul was born on July 1, 1920 in Odessa, MO to Elmer M. and Dora May (Day) Barker. He attended Greenton rural school. Myrul served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. On October 31, 1942 he married Katherine Lorene Carr in Little Rock, Arkansas, who survives of the home. He retired in 1963 from Bendix where he was the manager of the tool and die room. Myrul was a charter member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Odessa. In addition to his wife he is survived by two brothers, David Allen Barker of Odessa, MO and Charles Wayne Barker, Sr., (Buss) and wife Bernice of Odessa, MO; a sister Norma Jean Murry of Odessa, MO; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde Barker, Matthew Barker, John Barker and Milton Barker; and two sisters, Ruby Murry and Sadie Belle Barker as an infant.
