HAROLD EDWARD SLAUGHTER
Harold Edward Slaughter, 81, of Lexington, MO was born August 17, 1934 to Isabel Williams and Jack Slaughter in Lexington. He departed this life on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Second Baptist Church of Lexington. Burial will be the Lee's Summit Missouri City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. Mr. Slaughter will lie in state Monday, June 27 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington, MO 64067.
Harold was united in marriage to Alice B. Stufflebean on July 5, 1958 and she preceded him in death. October 20, 1979 Harold was united in marriage to Lois S. Kincaid. Harold accepted Christ and was baptized at the Second Baptist Church in Richmond, Missouri, where he also sang in the Men's Chorus.
Harold attended and graduated from Douglas High School, where he played football and basketball. After graduation from high school he enlisted in the United States Army, where he was a dog trainer. He was discharged from the Army and then reenlisted in the United States Navy and finally retired from the Army National Guard. Harold retired from Ford Motor Company (after more than 30 years) and the Army National Guard on the same date in 1994. Harold loved to train dogs, go hunting and fishing, play cards and tell stories.
Harold leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Lois S. Slaughter, of the home. Five sons: Eric L. Slaughter, Jacob Slaughter, Timothy Jerel Slaughter, Clifford Henley, and Michael F. Lee. Two daughters:
Ina L. Copeland and Ericka L. Winfield. Six brothers: Michael Slaughter, Louis Slaughter, Edward Slaughter, Edward Danner, Michael Danner, and Jeffrey Slaughter. Five sisters: Florence Banks, Geraldine Sutton, Jackie Johnson, Sherri Buei, and Michelle Danner. His oldest living relative, Aunt Ruby Antwine, a brother-in-law, James D. Kincaid (Rose), twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great-grand-children, one great-great-grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his step-mother, Luella Slaughter, step-father, Louis D. Williams, mother, Isabel Williams, father, Jack Slaughter, sister, Jacqueline Barnes, six brothers, Richard Williams, Kenneth Jenkins, Floyd Jenkins, Bill Williams, John and Donald Slaughter, two sons, Charles E. Henley and Anthony Crockett, a grandson, Michael E. Lee and one nephew, Chris Banks.
