Gerald Lewis Adams, 71, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Saturday May 4, 2013 at the Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with Reverend John Churchill officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday May 6, 2013 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home in Odessa, MO, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Burial will be in Mt. www.ralphojones.com. Gerald was born on May 5, 1941 in Eldora, Iowa to Vance and Velma (Smallwood) Adams. He was a 1959 graduate of Sioux Rapids High School. On June 10, 1962 Gerald was united in marriage to Jullee Anne Struve in Sioux Rapids, IA who survives of the home. Gerald worked as a Supervisor for Lucent Technologies in Lees Summit, MO. He retired after 30 plus years. Gerald and Jullee are members of the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. He served on the Odessa R-7 School Board, the Odessa Rural Fire Board and the Odessa High School football chain gang. He coached for the Odessa Little League for many years and always supported youth activities. Some of his hobbies include fishing, woodworking, going to the grandchildrens sports activities, but most of all spending time with his family. In addition to his wife Jullee survivors include, three children, Traci Lynn Howell and husband Robert of Windsor, MO, Andrea Lea Austin and husband Brent of Odessa, MO, Matthew Robert Adams and wife Lindsey of Odessa, MO; 9 grandchildren, Jenni Moore and husband Michael, Phillip Boydston, Conner Moore, Kendall Moore, Shelby Moore, Cade Adams, Garrett Austin, Emma Austin and Rylee Adams; one great grandson, Anson Moore; three brothers, Sherrill Adams and wife Reba of Storm Lake, IA, Kenneth Adams and wife Violet of Wellsburg, IA, Ronal Adams and wife Jan of Salem, OR; one sister, Bonnie Weberg and husband Don of Inwood, IA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Gerald was preceded in death by a daughter, Kris Kaye (Adams) Moore and a sister Shirley Hunter.
