Ovid Lance Hull, 64, of rural Odessa, Missouri passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Cremation will follow. Memorials are suggested to the family. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com. Lance was born on December 1, 1948 to John Ralph and Patty Jean (Wene) Hull in Joplin, MO. He began his education in Independence, MO and moved to the Warrensburg area in 1962. He graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1967. He played various sports and was a member of the National Honor Society. Lance owned a horse and rode frequently on the pathways on and near the farm where he lived. Lance served in the United States Navy for four years. While in the Navy he married Victoria Anne Allard on December 23, 1971in Brunswick, Maine. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2004. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he and Victoria moved to Warrensburg, MO where he attended Central Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in 1976. After having over 25 years of service he retired in 2013 from Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. He was a member of the VFW Post 5675 in Odessa, MO. In addition to his parents, Lance is survived by three children, Christopher Michael Hull, currently stationed in Camp Humphreys South Korea, Melanie Rachel (Hull) Richardson of rural Odessa, MO, Johnathan Lance Hull of San Diego, California; eight grandchildren, Jordan Michael Hull, Grant Christopher Hull, Perry Johnathan Hull, Isaac Thomas Hull, Damien Scott Richardson, Alysse Nicole Richardson, Corinne Victoria Anne Fields and Alexandria Nicole Fields; two sisters, Patricia Beth Kaspshak of Overland Park, Kansas, Elizabeth Jean Ewert of Hutchison, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
