Gregory Lynn “Huffer” Hough, 67 of Higginsville, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at St. Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, MO.

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 S. St., Lexington, MO, 64067, 660-259-2245. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family in care of Greg Hough (for PaPa’s grandchildren). Greg was born on April 24, 1957, in Lexington, MO to Delbert G. Hough and Judy K. (Hoeppner) Hough. He graduated in the class of 1975 from Lafayette County C-1 High School in Higginsville, MO. On September 6, 1980, Greg was united in marriage to Jana M. Cronan in Lexington, MO. They later divorced, but remained friends. Huffer was a talented carpenter, retiring after many years of service from the Carpenters Union Local 1127 in Kansas City, MO. He was also a member of the Fox Hunters Association, Rocky Mountain Elk Federation, Boy Scouts Troop 318, and the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Huffer was very much a people person, to his parents and sisters, he was known as Gregory Lynn, to his children, dad, to his grandchildren, papa, and to his friends, Huffer. He was an outdoorsman and houndsman, he loved hunting, fishing, farming, sprint car racing, running hounds, but most of all he loved supporting his children and grandchildren at their sporting events. He will be greatly missed, especially in our stands and at the concession stands. 

 

Survivors include two children, Greg (Kristen) Hough of Boonville, MO and Lauren (Austin) Stephenson of Lexington, MO; four grandchildren, Tatum Hough, Beau Hough, Madelyn Stephenson, and Sophia Stephenson; four sisters, Cindy (Robbie) Cowherd of Higginsville, MO, Lisa Hough of Higginsville, MO, Lori (Brian) Beck of Higginsville, MO and Amy (Steve) Lovercamp of Alma, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

 

Huffer was preceded in death by his father, Delbert G. Hough; his mother and stepfather, Judy K. Shelby and Col. James Shelby; and nephew, Austin Beck.
