Glen Ray Struchtemeyer, 62, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Masks are required. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Odessa, 100 State Hwy OO, Odessa, MO, 64076. Glen was born on July 28, 1958 to Sylvan and Mary Ellen (Davis) Struchtemeyer in Lexington, MO. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1976. On September 8, 2008 Glen was united in marriage to Myra (Roberson) Struchtemeyer in Branson, MO. He started out working for various auto part stores over the years, then as a pressman for the Kansas City Star for over twenty years, then worked as a DA1 Development Assistant at the Higginsville Habilitation Center for over fifteen years. Glen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Odessa. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Glen and Myra enjoyed traveling to Branson, MO and going to Winterset, IA. Also, he was an avid John Wayne fan and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his wife and mother, Glen is survived by four daughters, Reesa Lanum and husband Richard of Grain Valley, MO, Rachel Landsberg and husband Jeremy of Odessa, MO, Dena O’Hare of Blue Springs, MO, and Jennifer Franklin and husband Jeff of Blue Springs, MO; a granddaughter, Penelope Franklin of Blue Springs, MO; and a sister, Lori Anne Struchtemeyer of Odessa, MO.
Glen was preceded in death by his father.
