Givens Lee Barker

Givens Lee Barker, 82, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas surrounded by his loving family.

A private family inurnment will take place at Greenton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Greenton Cemetery Association. Givens was born on December 12, 1942 in Odessa, MO to Henry Matthew and Agnetta Bernice (Robinson) Barker. He graduated in 1960 from Odessa High School. He served in the Missouri National Guard. Givens worked for many years in the aviation industry for Butler Manufacturing as the Operations Plant Manager. He was a man of faith and a member of Living Church of God. Givens was an avid Chiefs football fan, Royals baseball fan, and loved basketball and enjoyed March Madness, his favorite time of year. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Givens enjoyed playing cards, gardening, country drives with his kids, going to the casino, and having dinner with family and friends.

Givens is survived by three children, Carrie Scheffer (Cassy Scheffer) of Afton, OK, Jeanette Bellar of Lenexa, KS, and David Barker (Renee Reis) of Overland Park, KS; ten grandchildren, Sean Mollentine, Dylan Mollentine, Will Scheffer, Hayden Scheffer, Jory Garrett, Josh Bellar, Jenna Bellar, Jackson Reis, Mason Reis, and Hailey Reis; four great-grandchildren, Sophia Mollentine, Charlie Mollentine, AJ Garrett, and Jory Michael Garrett; one sister, Joyce Bernice Caine of Columbia, MO; and three brothers, Glenn Barker (Karen) of Odessa, MO, Gary Matthew Barker (Brenda) of Odessa, MO, and Guy Wayne Barker (Judi) of Manassas, Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Givens was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Michael Caine.
