Geraldine Avis McCoy

Geraldine Avis (Lerol) McCoy, 78, of Wellington, passed away February 18, 2019 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Blue Springs. Funeral service will be at 12:00 pm, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. Visitation will also be on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until noon. Burial will be in Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lafayette County Cancer Coalition.

Geraldine was born January 18, 1941 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to Ole and Olga Lerol. She married Robert Dale McCoy June 13, 1980 in Kansas City. Geraldine enjoyed raising and showing Tennessee Walking horses with her husband and was inducted into the Tennessee Walking Horse Hall of Fame and the Missouri Saddle Bred Hall of Fame. She was a homemaker.

Geraldine is survived by her husband of the home; daughters, Vickie Stark of Gladstone and Cindie Gorman and husband Geoff of Parkville; step daughter, Brenda Kay Dumas and husband Tommy of Odessa; grandchildren Shawn Stark, Tristan Stark, Darnell Stark, Aaron Bercier and Amanda Gorman; great grandchild, Aidan Stark; step grandchildren, Chloeanne, Falynn, Nicholas, Trey and Christopher; brother, Orlin Lerol of Thief River Falls, Minnesota; sisters, Beula Weiss and husband Frank and June Zakrzewski both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and sister in law, Ellie Lerol of Minnesota. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenny and Marvin Lerol; and sisters, Eileen Cole and Christine Anenson.
