Gerald H. Kolkmeyer

Gerald H. Kolkmeyer, 80,  a lifelong resident of Wellington, Missouri passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023 surrounded by his family at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri.  

Gerald will Lie in State from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 2023, at St. Luke Evangelical Free Church, 700 MO-224, Wellington, MO, 64097.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the church.  Interment will be in the St. Luke Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to St. Luke Evangelical Free Church.  Memories of Gerald and condolences for his family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.  The pallbearers are, Brantley Niendick, Benjamin Niendick, Kyle Kolkmeyer, Eric Kolkmeyer, Derek Edmonds, and Jeremy Ahmann; Honorary Pallbearer, Mark Schroer

Gerald was born on December 22, 1942, in Wellington, MO to Harold and Erna Josephine (Tilly) Kolkmeyer.  He graduated in 1960 from Wellington-Napoleon High School in Wellington, MO.  Gerald was a lifelong farmer, who carried on the family tradition of farming row crops and livestock.  He was a member and supporter of the Wellington-Napoleon FFA.  Gerald was a member of St. Luke Evangelical Free Church and was confirmed on Palm Sunday, March 25, 1956, by Reverend E.H. Beissenherz.  He always enjoyed going to Wellington City Hall and visiting each day.  In addition to spending time with family and friends, Gerald was an avid Royals Baseball and Chiefs Football fan.

Gerald is survived by three aunts, Fay Tilly of Higginsville, MO, Alberta Beissenherz of Wellington, MO, and Doris Alumbaugh of Lee’s Summit, MO; numerous cousins, relatives and friends. 

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents.
