George Edward Green

George Edward Green, 72, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. , Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524, with Pastor Brad Mann officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Odessa City Cemetery. Ed was born on April 27, 1942 in Odessa, MO to C.P. Green, Jr., and Viola Minnie (Cole) Green. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. On October 10, 1964 Ed was united in marriage to Verda Green, they later divorced but remained very good friends. He worked for Libby Welding Company for over 20 plus years in the quality control department. Most recently he retired from Haldex as an Inspector. Ed was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas. His hobbies include hunting, car racing, fishing, farming, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Smith and husband Michael of Oak Grove, MO and Debbie Bergstrom and husband Kelly of Edwardsville, KS; three grandchildren, Josh Smith, Loren Bergstrom and Brett Bergstrom; a brother, C.P. Green, III and wife Marilyn of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; a sister, Kay Jordan and husband Don of Spring Hill, KS; a close friend, Verda Green of Odessa, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be: Mike Smith, Josh Smith, Kelly Bergstrom, Loren Bergstrom, Mark Handley and David Handley
