Gary D. White, 77, of Wellington, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 at his home.

An inurnment with military honors will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Greenton Cemetery, 9687 Greenton Rd, Odessa, MO. 64076. MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Memorials are suggested to Catch-A-Dream Foundation, 2485 Ennis Rd, Starkville, MS, 39759, and may be left in care of the funeral home. Gary was born on January 3, 1944 in Kansas City, MO to Kenneth and Bonnie Jean (Robbins) Byrd. After graduating from Raytown High School in 1962, he enlisted in the Army National Guard on July 9, 1964, and served with the Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 110th Engineering Battalion, Company C in Lexington and Company A in Kansas City. He earned the Sharpshooter Badge for the M-14 rifle, the Expert Marksmanship Badge for the M-1 rifle and the Missouri National Guard 5-Year Long Service Ribbon. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4 on July 8, 1970. On December 18, 1970 Gary was united in marriage to Rebecca “Becky” (Mayfield) in Wellington, MO. He co-owned and operated KG Machining in Grain Valley, MO for many years before retiring in 2011. In addition to spending time with family and friends Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, cooking, gardening, and was an avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his wife, Becky, Gary is survived by two daughters, Shelley Walker (Bob) of Raymore, MO, and Amy Pierce (Russ) of Higginsville, MO; a son, Chris White (Amanda) of Adrian, MO; eleven grandchildren, Kristin, Meagan, Aubrey, Bobby, Brooke, Sarah, Allen, Aidan, Bayley, Keegan, and Kordell; thirteen great grandchildren; a sister, Judy George of Raytown, MO; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Carol Throckmorton.
