Gary Wayne Waggoner, 78, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 7995 Outer Rd. Odessa, MO, 64076. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. The family will host a dinner immediately afterwards in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Memorials are suggested to the N.R.A., Missouri Sheriff’s Association, or the Missouri State Troopers Association. Gary was born on April 20, 1941 in Miller, Missouri to Louis Wilbur and Nina (Kimmons) Waggoner. He graduated in 1958 from Miller High School. On June 7, 1964 Gary was united in marriage to Evelyn Lina (Hartz) in Kansas City, MO. He worked for the Union, Local # 41 Teamsters, driving as an over-the-road Trucker. In addition to spending time with friends and family, Gary enjoyed camping and visiting Silver City Dollar City.
Including his wife, Evelyn, survivors include two children, Kimberly Drummond of Wellington, MO, and Troy Waggoner of Odessa, MO; and four grandchildren, Dakota Waggoner, Andrew Michael Martinez, Jessica Garton, and Tyler Garton.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Bill Waggoner; and one sister, Vivian Waggoner.
