Margie B. Jones

Margie B. Jones, 91, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Golden Living Center-New Haven in Odessa. Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church of Odessa, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013 with Reverend Clint Coffey officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Burial will be in the Odessa City Cemetery following the funeral service. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of Odessa. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com. Margie was born on April 7, 1922 in rural Gallatin, MO to James Lee and Alberta (Millspaugh) Niday. She graduated from the Gallatin High School in 1939. On January 31, 1953 she was united in marriage to Charles Harry Allen Jones in Gallatin. He passed away on April 22, 2002. Margie retired from Western Union in 1977 where she worked as a Teletypist. Margie and Harry are members of the First Christian Church of Odessa. She was a member of the CWF and a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. Some of her hobbies include gardening or anything to do with being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Survivors include three children, Stan Jones of Odessa, MO, Bob Jones and wife Debbie of Grain Valley, MO and Jim Jones of Odessa, MO; nine grandchildren, Serena Timko, Kiley Shaw, Garrett Jones, Rachel Jones, Dylan Jones, Michael Bly, Steven Bly, Melissa Bly and Sarah Johnson and nine great grandchildren. Margie was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
