Gary Lynn Bennett

January 9, 1941 — October 23, 2018

Gary Lynn Bennett, 77, of Lexington, passed from this life and entered into Heaven on October 23, 2018. He passed away surrounded by his family. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 27, 2018 at First Assembly of God Church, Lexington at 1:00 pm. Visitation will also be on Saturday, at the church from 12:00 until 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Lexington Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Christian Motorcycle Association.

Gary was born January 9, 1941 in St. Elmo, Illinois to Jack and Ruby (Crumbaugh) Bennett. He married Helen Denise Thorson May 28, 1962 in Lexington. Gary worked for Ford Motor Company for 41 years, retiring in 2006. He was a worship leader and Deacon at First Assembly of God Church and was a member of the Lexington Masonic Lodge. He was also an active member of the Christian Motorcycle Association.

Gary is survived by his wife, Helen, of the home; children, Pam Freund and husband Jim of Blue Springs and Randy Bennett and wife Michelle of Independence; grandchildren, Dustin Freund and wife Meagan of Lee's Summit and Taylor Freund of Blue Springs; two great grandchildren, Avery and Kilynn; and sister Audrine Hubbartt and husband Bob of Effingham, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.
