Fred Clifford Huff

February 1, 1932 — September 6, 2023

Odessa, Missouri

We are sad to announce our father, Fred Clifford Huff, Odessa, MO died peacefully on September 6, 2023, in Independence, Missouri. He was born February 1, 1932, in Salt Lake, Indiana to Helen May McDermott (Huff) and Virgil Ward Huff. After graduating from High School, Fred enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean War, as a radio mechanic. After being discharged in 1956, he spent his early years passionately working in Aerospace and Defense with Hughes Aircraft Company and The Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington. In 1953, Fred married the love of his life, Shirley Jo (Martin) Huff, going on to have three children.  In the 1980’s Fred moved his family to Branson, Missouri, where he enjoyed being a part of the area’s wholesome, family-oriented entertainment community. He and Shirley would later go on to spend 22 years as residents of Yuma, Arizona.

An avid reader and with a desire to always be learning, Fred was a private and quiet person, but also very witty and fun! He was a dedicated husband and giving father. We will miss his humor, and his presence in our lives.  We celebrate the time we had with him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, daughter Debra J. Gipe, and his parents. He leaves behind his two daughters, Barbara A. Kitterman of Odessa, MO, and Suzanne M. Smith of Dallas, TX. His granddaughters Karrah G. Kitterman, Karsyn J. Kitterman and grandson, Skyler W.A. Krnavek, two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Ford and Piper Hurley.

To honor Fred, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, in memory of Debra J. Gipe. Your gift will improve the lives of pancreatic cancer patients.
