Ronald (Ronnie) Gene Smith, 49, of Independence, Missouri, formerly of Odessa, MO passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Greenton Cemetery. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the North Care Hospice. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com. Ronnie was born on February 26, 1963 in Independence, MO to Ronald Gene Smith and Rita Joan (Hodges) Claibourn. He is a 1981 graduate of Odessa High School. He was married to Denise Stephens for 22 years and she survives of the home. He was a cabinet maker for over 32 years. He loved to fish, Bar-B-Q and most of all spending time with his family and Grandchildren. In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include, five children, Ashley Renee Smith of Texas, Kyle Matthew Smith of Texas, Jacob Anthony Stephens of Independence, MO, Amanda Darlene Stephens of Raytown, MO and Adam Nicholas Stephens of Raytown, MO; three grandchildren, Cameron Smith, Diamond Faye Hicks and Zavion Stephens; two brothers, Bruce Allen Sell and wife Debra of Rural Odessa, MO and Joey Duane Eaton of Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by his father.
