Ellanette (Darling) Herman

Ellanette (Darling) Herman, 84, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the Odessa Cemetery in Odessa, MO.  Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Memories of Ellanette and condolences for her family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph O. Ellanette was born on April 1, 1938, in Norton, Kansas to Chester O. and Nellie X. (Carver) Darling.  She was united in marriage to Arlyn Francis Herman on October 25, 1955, in Ft. Carson, Colorado.  He preceded her in death on June 20, 1987.  Ellanette retired in 2014 from Anderson Ford in St. Joseph, MO after many years of service as a file clerk.  Ellanette was a devoted mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Survivors include three children, Bruce A. Herman (Rhonda) of Oak Grove, MO, Dyanne Smith of Odessa, MO, and Amy R. King (Kenny) of St. Joseph, MO; seven grandchildren, Jacquie Butler (Jason), Joe Herman (Kelsey), Corey Herman (Morgan), Brandi McGrath Kong (Scott), Ryan McGrath (Aubry), Kenny King, Jr. (Mathew Palmgren), and Kylie King (Ian Komer); and eight great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Ellanette was preceded in death by her brother, Bertrand Darling.
