Earl Avery Shobe

Earl Avery Shobe, 88, of Odessa passed away March 19, 2023, at his home, surrounded by family.

 

Visitation will be Friday, March 24, 2023 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, 12507 Mount Tabor Road, Odessa, Missouri  64076.  A funeral service will follow at the church at 11:00 am.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Mount Tabor United Methodist Church or the Mount Tabor Cemetery Association.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 South Second Street, Odessa, Missouri  64067, 816-633-5524.

 

Earl was born February 5, 1935 in Mayview, Missouri to Avery and Sadie (Bullock) Shobe.  He proudly served for four years in the United States Navy aboard the USS Carpenter.  On April 16, 1971 Earl married Janice Marie Bradshaw.  He retired from RHW Company as a construction superintendent in 1999.  He lived his life at the farm south of Odessa and was a farmer.  Earl was a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church and the VFW. Along with spending time with family and friends, Earl was a drummer for local country music bands.

 

Survivors include his wife, of the home; children, Kimberlin Martens (Alan) of The Villages, Florida, Edward Shobe of Odessa, Lisa Dennis (James) of Kansas City, Missouri and Valli Fisher of Odessa; grandchildren, Melissa Jones of Hudson, Wisconsin, Melanie Palma of Kansas City, Missouri, Aaron Martens of Barlett, Tennessee, Zachary Shobe of Odessa, Robin Shobe of Aurora, Colorado, Joshua Dennis of Lawrence, Kansas, Lindsey Dennis of Overland Park, Kansas, Lane Fisher of Blue Springs, Missouri and Lincoln Fisher of Grain Valley, Missouri; sister, Marie Herman of Bates City, Missouri; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Luff; and daughter in law, Faith Shobe.
