Robert Allan Wilkinson

Robert "Bob" Allan Wilkinson, 79, of rural Odessa, Missouri passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306, South Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524, with Reverend Sam Fisher officiating. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 with Visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery, rural Odessa. Bob was born on September 25, 1933 in Turley, Oklahoma to Allan Reid and Iona Herma (Sheppard) Wilkinson. He enlisted in the United States Navy on September 19, 1952 and was honorably discharged on September 13, 1956. While enlisted, he served during the Korean Conflict. Bob was united in marriage to Anna Marie (Seitzer) Wilkinson on February 2, 1957 in Kansas City, MO. Anna preceded him in death on October 4, 2012. Bob spent most of his later years farming on the family farm he and Anna owned. Bob was a proud member of the Odessa V.F.W. Post 5675 where he served as Post Commander from 1975-1976. He was also a member of the Odessa American Legion Post 286. In his spare time he liked gardening, fishing, but most of all being with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include five children, Dale Wilkinson and wife Connie of Boonville, MO, Bill Wilkinson and fianc� Wendy Stewart of Harrisonville, MO, Cathy Bellis and husband David of Mayview, MO, Robin (Roberta) Mills and husband Scott of Overland Park, KS and Janet Wilkinson and fianc� Donnie Duffey of Independence, MO; There are 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; also surviving is a brother-in-law, Joseph Seitzer and wife Debbie of Springfield, MO. In addition to his parents and wife Bob was preceded in death by sisters Betty Jackson and Joan McClendon, and grandsons Thomas Wilkinson and Joshua Stewart.
