Dwayne Ford, age 44 of Altamonte Springs, FL went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2016.
Dwayne was born on March 13, 1972 in Lexington, MO to Alvin and Peggy (Terrill) Ford. He grew up in Odessa, MO with his siblings Brad Ford, Lisa Edwards and husband Al, and Deidre Cooper and husband Manuel all of Odessa, MO. He was married to Laura Gutman on October 2, 2003. Together, they raised two children: Krystal, 18, and Johnny, 15. During his lifetime, Dwayne worked as a firefighter in Odessa, served in the US Air Force for 17 years, for a time was a stay at home father, and finished his career as a corrections officer for the state of Florida. His greatest achievement in life was becoming an avid family man who enjoyed spending time with his family at Disney World.
He is survived by his wife, two children, parents, siblings, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military Rites will follow the Celebration of Life at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made towards the children's continued education.
