Dorothy Marie (Lahman) Levy, 96 of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, MO.
Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 S. St., Lexington, MO, 64067, 660-259-2245. Visitation will follow from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 107 N. 18th St., Lexington, MO, 64067. Dorothy was born on August 27, 1926, in Kansas City, Kansas to Harry Arthur and Marie Florence (Kriegshauser) Lahman. She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO. On November 11, 1944, Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Levy in Kansas City at Holy Name Parish. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1994. Dorothy and Bob were members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lexington. She served in the Altar Society and was a Eucharistic Minister. Dorothy was a homemaker, who loved caring for her home and family. She was a member and 20-year chair of the Old Homes Tour in Lexington, a member of the Garden Club, Women’s Club, and a Girl Scout Leader. Dorothy was an accomplished portrait artist; she had the honor to be commissioned for the design and painting of the official White House Christmas Tree Ornament under Congressman Ike Skelton’s leadership. In addition, she has been commissioned to paint and draw several other portraits. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, gardening, and always had beautiful flowers in her yard.
Survivors include three children, Sandra May of Higginsville, MO, Robert “Bob” Levy and wife Carol of Lexington, MO, and Pat Scott and husband Chuck of Lexington, MO; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Ellingson and Wilma Salyer; and two brothers, George Lahman and David Lahman.
