Doris Juanita Sims, 82 of Lexington, MO passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at her home. Doris Orendor was born October 7, 1929, the daughter of James R. and Mary Nelson Orendor. She married Ryland B. �R.B.� Sims on January 12, 1946. Doris was a waitress for 34 years at the Peckerwood Club in Lexington, and worked at the Lexington Laundry and the hospital laundry. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lexington, a member and past president of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and had served as a Boy Scout Den Mother for Troop 318. Mrs. Sims is survived by five children: Jonna Spencer (Kenny), Hardin, MO, Ronald Sims (Donna), Sherilyn Braden (Robert), Steven Sims (Susan), and Shelley Maze (Robert), all of Lexington. A brother, Jerry Orendor, Sacramento, CA; three sisters, Margie Good and Nancy Whitesitt, of Lexington and Darlene Jennings of Belton. There are 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.B. Sims on June 23, 2010, her parents, and brothers, James and Victor. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lexington. Burial in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Higginsville, MO. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Doris Sims Family.
