Doris Earline (Hubbs) Rayl, 83, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Ignite Medical Resort St. Mary’s in Blue Springs, MO.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs, MO. Memorials are suggested to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Doris was born on January 9, 1939, in Kansas City, MO to Earl Joshua and Lola Maude (Graham) Hubbs. Doris was raised by her mother and stepfather, Gilbert Martin Borgman. She graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1957. In 1970, Doris was united in marriage to Norman Eugene Rayl in Independence, MO. He preceded her in death. In addition to being a farmer’s wife, she worked for Sears for over 14 years. Doris was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Independence. In addition to spending time with family and friends, she enjoyed traveling, collecting cookbooks, and crocheting, in which she won several Blue Ribbons and Grand Champions in at the Missouri State Fair.
Survivors include two sisters, Gloria Jean Shay of Odessa, MO, and Marcia Kay Bettmann (Roger) of Elkhorn, NE; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to her husband, parents, and stepfather, Doris was preceded in death by a brother, James Gilbert Borgman.
