Donna Sue Fortune, 67, of Wellington, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. Donna Sue Campbell was born on January 25, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Elmer Lee and Lillie Ann Rogge Campbell. She married William Thomas Fortune on March 5, 1977 in Springfield, IL. Donna Sue worked as a physical therapist at the Higginsville Habilitation Center and retired after 30 years. Donna Sue was a member of St. Luke Evangelical Free Church, Wellington, the Happy Homemakers Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and had been a volunteer for Preferred Hospice (Lexington.) Donna Sue Fortune is survived by her daughter Leigh Ann Smith, Wellington and a step- son Steve McBride of Fort Hood, TX. Donna Sue has two grandsons, Aaden and Andrew Smith and four step grandchildren Scarlett, Savannah, Lila, and Dalen McBride. Also surviving is a twin brother, Donald Lee Campbell and wife, Mary Ann, Wellington and nephews Jeff Campbell and wife Christina, Brian Campbell, and two great-nephews, Nolan and Evan Campbell. Donna Sue was preceded in death by her parents and husband William Thomas (November 2013.) She also leaves behind cousins and a multitude of friends and associates who will miss her. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Luke Evangelical Free Church, Wellington. Visitation for Donna Sue will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 6 to 8pm at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington, MO. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Parents Association of the Habilitation Center, Higginsville, Preferred Hospice (Lexington) or St. Luke Evangelical Free Church.
