Donald “Donnie” Otis Shaffer, 74 of Lexington, Missouri formerly of Odessa, MO passed away on Sunday September 22, 2019 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Heart of America Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Donnie was born on January 4, 1945 in Odessa, MO to Scotty and Matilda Mae (Robinette) Gill. On February 14, 1973 he married Karen Arlene (Neal) Shaffer on February 14, 1973 in Kansas City, MO. Donnie owned and operated Shaffer’s Classics in Lexington, MO for 42 years before retiring. He was a member of the Nostalgia Super Stockers, Good Time Oldies Car Club and the Higginsville Gun Club.
Donnie is survived by his wife Karen Shaffer of Lexington, MO; three children, Tiffany Pavlica and husband Adam of Warsaw, MO, Troy Ailor and wife Tracy of Odessa, MO and Jennifer Mansell and husband Dave of Napoleon, MO; six grandchildren, Daniel Steffee, Mackenzie Yeo, Andrew Ballew, Gabriel Mansell, Mason Mansell and Frankie Lin Mansell; one great-grandchild, Everly Yeo; two brothers, Tony Shaffer and wife Petra of Kingsville, MO and Mike Murry of Casselberry, FL; three sisters, Karen Vigliaturo and husband Robert of Blue Springs, MO, Brenda Murry of Bates City, MO and Sharon Riggs and husband Charles of San Lorenzo, California.
In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by a brother Ronnie Murry.
