Funeral services for 78 year old Donald Dean Pyle of Lexington will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral Home. Burial will be in the Elmer Cemetery, Elmer, Mo. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the U.S.S. Radford #446 National Naval Museum. Mr. Pyle died suddenly on Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Lafayette Regional Health Center, Lexington. Donald Dean Pyle was born on March 5, 1932 in Elmer, MO to Truman and Ida Mae Pollock Pyle. He married Martha N. Johnson on February 18, 1989 in New Cambria, MO. Mr. Pyle had retired from the General Motors Plant where he worked in the maintenance department and retired in 1989 after 32 years there. Mr. Pyle was a Navy Veteran and served during the Korean War and was served on the U.S.S. Radford #446. Survivors include his wife, Martha of the home. There are two children, Pam Pyle Swope of Richmond and Mike Pyle and wife Stacey, Rapid City, South Dakota. There are two step children, Miles Sprague of Springfield, Nebraska and Leigh Ann Janes of Holden, MO. There are 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Louis Pyle of Kirksville, Earl Pyle and wife Andree of Manhattan, Kansas, Larry Pyle of Lees Summitt, and Harold Pyle of Richmond. There are also two surviving sisters, Thelma McDaniel of Simi Valley California and Donnetta Borden of Elma, Washington. Mr. Pyle was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, Floy Zimmerman, a sister, Mae Malone and a brother, Virgil Pyle.
