Dixie Lee (Filler) Scott, 80, passed away on Friday January 6, 2017 at the New Haven Living Center in Odessa, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held one hour prior, from 1:00 p.m., to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Dixie was born on July 27, 1936 in Odessa, MO to David Elbert and Ethel Grace (Rankin) Filler. She married Leonard J. Scott on July 16, 1954. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1986. Dixie retired from Acutek Inc. in 1996. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Odessa and a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son David Len Scott of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren, Jonathan Scott, Joshua Shea Lester, Terry Stebbins, and Rhonda Needham all of Odessa, MO; many great grandchildren; one sister Davijean Barker of Odessa, MO; a brother-in-law, Gerald Coupland of Odessa, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dixie was preceded in death by a son Gary Allen Scott; two daughter-in-law’s, Janice Stebbens Scott and Kathy Bradley Scott; a brother Robert L. filler; a sister, Betty Nadine Coupland; and a sister-in-law, Sally Scott.
