Dennis Eugene Cairns

Dennis Eugene Cairns, 61, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024, at his home in Odessa, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Outreach Restoration Branch, 723 S. Chrysler Ave., Independence, MO, 64052. Dennis was born May 20, 1963, in Kansas City, MO to Donald Eugene and Lydia (Becerra) Cairns. He graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO. After many years as an over the road truck driver for various companies, Dennis retired from Midwest Express. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Dennis enjoyed playing Bingo at the American Legion, traveling, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. 

Dennis is survived by four children, Dennis Eugene Cairns, Jr. (D.J.) and wife Amber of Blue Springs, MO, Joseph Michael Cairns of Blue Springs, MO, Recco Christopher Cairns and wife Samantha of Odessa, MO, and Dallas Reed Wolf and wife Nicole of Chicago, IL; ten grandchildren, Olive, Carter, Camden, Abigail, Lucy, Josie, Isabel, Rico, Xander, Kobe, and Furby; two sisters, Donna Cairns of Butler, MO and Star Lang of Tonganoxie, KS; two brothers, Frank Becerra of Hume, MO and Tim Cairns of Independence, MO; and other close family members, Vanessa Becerra, Ashley Colven, Timothy Cairns, Jr., and Barbie Cairns; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by a brother, George Cairns.
