Demma Jean (Anderson) Meinershagen, 84 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital East in Lee’s Summit, MO.
The family will host A Celebration of Life at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. A private family Inurnment will take place at the Greenton Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Odessa Community Center. Demma was born on March 14, 1935 in Odessa, MO to Robert Anderson and Emma Mae (Couch) Anderson. She graduated in 1953 from Odessa High School in Odessa, MO. Demma married Gerald Wayne Meinershagen on March 20, 1953 in Odessa, MO. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Odessa. Demma worked many years for the Odessa Garment Factory, Higginsville Shoe Factory, the Mushroom Factory, Action Productsrs and retired from Wal-Mart. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Demma enjoyed playing cards and traveling the world.
Survivors include two daughters, Frankie Meinershagen and husband David Echols of Odessa, MO and Terry Dudley and husband Ernest of Platte City, MO; seven grandchildren, Demma Jeanine Swofford (Don), Kasey Sawyer, Frank Sawyer (J.J.), T. J. Sawyer (Amanda), Nichole Corum (Tom), Jeremy Dudley, and Travis Dudley (Nicole); 17 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Margaret Carrick of Arizona, Peggy Monell of Hawaii, Sharon Gongob (Patrick) of Hawaii and Phyllis Ann Anderson (Malcom) of Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Demma was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Lou Meinershagen and two brothers, David Lee and Ernest Glen Anderson.
