Delores “Faye” Dahlor Balk, 78, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday June 29, 2015 at the VITAS Hospice, in Kansas City, MO

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, 301 S. 1st St., Odessa, MO. A private family inurnment will take place at a different time. Memorials are suggested to the VITAS Hospice, 2316 E. Meyer Blvd., 7th floor east, Kansas City, MO 64132. Faye was born on June 18, 1937 in Marshall, MO to Roy Lee and Sallie Sarah (Anthony) Hughes. On February 20, 1954 she married Douglas Dahlor who preceded her in death. To that union three daughters were born, Debbie, Diana and Melinda. Faye was a homemaker, taking care of her family. On February 14, 1991 Faye married Raymond Balk in Independence, MO. In addition to spending time with family and friends, she liked to be outdoors, travel the countryside, antiquing, and dancing. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Odessa.

In addition to her husband Raymond, Faye is survived by three daughters, Debbie Ring and husband Clark of Holden, MO, Diana McCarthy and husband Dennis of Mayview, MO and Melinda Smith and husband Randy of Odessa, MO; six grandsons, Brian Ring and wife Jessica of Holden, MO, Derrick Ring and wife Molly of St. Joseph, MO, Andrew McCarthy of Columbia, MO, Kyle McCarthy and wife Liz of Odessa, MO and Cory and Christopher Smith of Odessa, MO; one great granddaughter, Adley McCarthy; two sisters, Sarah Brown of Richmond, MO and Lorene “Rennie” Hicks and husband Ralph of Odessa, MO; brother in law, Bill Dahlor and wife Martha of Odessa, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Faye was preceded in death by four brothers, Lee Roy, Sigal, Walter and Gene Hughes; and two sisters, Virginia Castell and Dorothy McFail.
