DELBERT LEE BEST

Delbert Lee Best, 67, of Lexington, MO passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his home.

Delbert was born September 13, 1948 in Lexington, MO, the son of Mollie A. Simpson Best and step-father, Clyde Martin. Delbert taught science, physical education, driver�s education, coached track and helped with other sports at the Wellington-Napoleon R-9 School district. He retired after 25 years. Delbert was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Lexington VFW Post 4052, the Lexington Elks Lodge and Turner Society.

Delbert is survived by his children: Jennifer Ann Kaullen and Jeffrey Lee Best and wife, Kim, both of Wellington, MO, a sister, Susan Sims, Lexington, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mollie, his step-father, Claude Martin, a brother, �Skipper�, Forrest R. Neal and two sisters, Mary E. Roberts and Barbara J. Brown.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Missouri State Veteran Cemetery, Higginsville, MO with Military Rites. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington, MO 64067 (660) 259-2245 Memorials may be made to the Delbert Best Memorial Fund for the Wellington-Napoleon All Purpose Field or the Lexington Athletic Department.
