Debra Gayle (Jones) Nelson, 70 of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. 

 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2024, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington, MO, 64067. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Friends of the Friendless. Debra was born on June 15, 1954, in Kansas City, MO to Carl Jones and Dixie (Davis) and Jay Huffman. She graduated from Van Horn High School in Independence, MO. Debra was united in marriage to Michael Howe in 1972, to that union two daughters were born Wendy and Amy. They later divorced but remained friends. In 1986 Debra married Gary Nelson, and they later divorced. She worked many years in housekeeping for nursing homes until she retired due to health reasons. Debra enjoyed spending time with her family, socializing with friends, and traveling. 

 

Survivors include two daughters, Wendy Shelton of Harrisonville, MO and Amy Rowe of Raymore, MO; four grandchildren, Jennifer Van Fossen, Joseph Switzer, Audrey Rowe, and Brady Rowe; one great granddaughter, Saphira Gall; two sisters, Carolyn (Paul) Dye of Independence, MO and Carla Schieber of Lexington, MO; three brothers, Ronnie Jones of Lexington, MO, Bobby (Mary) Jones of Hiouchi, California, and Carl Joe Jones of Willing, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

 

In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by a grandson, John Howe, and a brother, Michael Davis.
