David Francis Slusher, 95, of Lexington passed away September 17, 2020 at Meyer Care Center, Higginsville. Cremation has been entrusted to Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO 64067, 660-259-2245. David was born November 2, 1924 in Lexington to H. Emmet and Alice (Engel) Slusher. He graduated from Lexington High School and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy from the University of Missouri and a Masters in Soil Science from Iowa State University. David served in the United States Army. He retired after 30 years from the United States Department of Agriculture, where he served for several months in Libera, West Africa. David was married to Marie (Wood) Slusher for 58 years. She preceded him in death. He was a member of the Disciples of Christ where he sang in the church choir. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and carpentry and was a member of Turner’s Club.
Survivors include his son, Chris Slusher and wife Barinder Ahluwalia of Bedford, New Hampshire; and grandson Gavin Slusher of Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brother, Garr Slusher; and sisters, Virginia Fisher and Margaret Millhoff.
