David Wayne Peterson

David Wayne Peterson, 67, of Wellington, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. 

A Visitation will be held from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m., Friday, April 19, 2024, the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home 1720 South Street Lexington, MO 64067. 

A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00p.m., Friday, April 19, 2024, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Debra Peterson. David was born June 18, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri to Daniel Judson and Stella Mae (Huffman) Peterson. He attended Wellington-Napoleon High School. David was united in marriage on December 15, 1979, to Debra Raye (Jones) Peterson in Lexington, Missouri. David worked for concrete construction for 47 years. David was a member of Wellington Lions Club. David had a passion for the outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, and being on the lake. David enjoyed working on cars and hanging out with his children in the garage. Family gatherings were a highlight for David, where he could cut back and have a good time in the company of his loved ones. 

David is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Peterson of Wellington, MO; five children, David Shannon (Lori) Peterson of Shawnee, KS, Shawn (Teresa) Peterson of Garfield, KS, Randy (Michelle) Jones of Wellington, MO, Edward (Amanda) Peterson of Centerview, MO, and Mandy (Eric) Kolkmeyer of Wellington, MO; sixteen grandchildren, Whitney Blackmore, Kaitlyn Simsheuser, William Peterson, Nathan Jones, Candice Peterson, Shawn Peterson II, Brylee Peterson, Taylor Couch, Jaden Williams, Brooklyn Couch, Kadence Evans, Beau Peterson, Jaelynn Peterson, Aleah Kolkmeyer, Jacob Couch and Lucas Kolkmeyer, four great-grandchildren, Ella and Beckham Jones, and Makayla and Trey Simsheuser; four siblings, Daniel (Linda) Peterson of Atoka, OK, Beverly (Vester) Patton of Winfield, KS, John (Joyce) Peterson of Wellington, MO, Lesa (Shawn) Duensing of Warrensburg, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.    

David was preceded in death by both his parents, one child, Candy Mae Peterson, and two brothers, Richard and Randy Peterson.
