David “Frank†Franklin Mansell, Sr., 67, of Napoleon, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September, 16, 2015 at the Napoleon United Methodist Church, 385 W. Church St., Napoleon, MO, 64074, Pastor Tom Owens officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Burial will be in the Arnold Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Diana Mansell. Frank was born on March 1, 1948 in Napoleon, MO to Robert Lee Mansell and Edna Frances (Hergemueller) Mansell. He married Diana Marie (Barker) Mansell on November 24, 1967 in Napoleon, MO, who survives of the home. Frank began his early years working on the riverboats as a deckhand, after marriage he started off as a welder for E.K. Campbell Co. in Kansas City, MO and eventually became Plant Manager for the company. In 2004 Frank and his son Dave, started their own fencing business. Pyramid Fence Company. They operated it until 2013 when Frank became unable to work do to his Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He retired at the age of 62 and became the caregiver for his two youngest grandchildren before and after school. Frank loved hunting, fishing, camping and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Diana, Frank is survived by three children, David Franklin Mansell, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Napoleon, Amy Lin Soendker and husband Brent of Wellington, MO and Lisa Louise Drecktrah and husband Robert of Napoleon, MO; 13 grandchildren, Austin and Samantha Soendker, Kaitlin and Jeremy McGhee, Brett and Cody Fairchild, Abbie Soendker, Bryce Drecktrah, Andrew Ballew, Elijah Adams, Gabriel, Mason and Frankie Lin Mansell; one great granddaughter, Mackenzie Beyer; two brothers, Russell Mansell and wife Alice of Odessa, MO and John Mansell and wife Dianna of Napoleon, MO; five sisters, Dorothy Schnittker of Wellington, MO, Margaret Braxdale of Wellington, MO, Vera Breuer and husband Gerald of Napoleon, MO, Louise Campbell and husband David of Salem, Arkansas and Judy Crowley and husband Ray of Napoleon, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a grandson, Collin R. Dieckman; a sister, Mary F. Johnson and one brother Everett “Jake†L. Mansell.
